Jenks took down Bishop Kelley, the reigning 6A champions to secure their spot in the 2021 championship. Defeating the 2020 champs wasn’t a fluke. But most importantly, Jenks isn’t slowing down anytime soon. Mikiah Perdue and Megan Salyer are the only seniors on the Trojans roster.
2021 Class 6A State Champions, that’s the box the Lady trojans checked by defeating No.3 Norman North Tuesday night in the state final.
Just moments before becoming champions, Kynli Kirkendoll’s point helped her team get closer to victory. It’s worth reflecting on the fact that her point was a pivotal play in Jenks becoming 6A champions.
Kirkendoll has an aggressive offensive and defensive game. She’s a silent assassin. Kirkendoll lets the game come to her. She knows how to read the floor and be patient. She also knows when to be aggressive and inflict damage to lead the pack.
Says Kirkendoll, “My mindset was to do it for the team, do it for us.”
Keep your eye on Kynli Kirkendoll to be a big-time performer next season. She’s a sophomore, so you can expect her to come back better next year.
