ALEXIS PRINCE is proof that self-discipline is the true key to success. Goals can be easy to give up on if they seem too far away. Success comes down to one question: How bad do you want it?
It all starts with the belief in yourself.
Says Prince, “If you want to do something, give it your all and know that you can do it. Anything can happen if you put your heart into it.”
Let’s just say that she knows what she’s talking about. Prince has a basketball resume that speaks for itself.

But here’s the thing, she’s humble about the accolades that she’s racked up during her career.
We talked about her success in high school at Edgewater in Orlando, Florida, and her collegiate career at Baylor University. The four years she was at Baylor, they only lost a total of seventeen games. Her years spent in Waco, Texas prepared her for the next chapter of her life. We also discussed what it meant for her when she was drafted by the Phoneix Mercury in 2017.
“It was a dream come true. It felt good knowing that I had the talent to play at a high level but I knew there was more work to be done,” said Prince.
Her journey is one that has been full of success. From the outside looking in, things may look perfect. However, she worked hard for every milestone that she has accomplished.
While at Baylor, she suffered several injuries which slowed her down but didn’t stop her. Her resilience in the face of adversity displays how courageous and mentally tough she is.
Says prince, “It was difficult not being able to play. I had to be mentally tough and focus on getting healthy because I knew I wanted to play after college.”
It took her a while to bounce back, but her motto is “Don’t stress about it.” One of the things we love about Prince is how down-to-earth she is. Her humbleness and simple approach to life make her feel like the girl next door.
On the contrary, life as a hooper has provided her a life that isn’t as modest. She recently signed with Hatay, a Turkey Women’s Basketball League in Hatay, Turkey.
The game has allowed her to travel and experience different cultures and develop relationships with players from all over the world.
Basketball has always been an outlet for her. But more importantly, it has helped her become more open and outgoing. While it can be hard being far away from family, especially coming from a close-knit family, she’s managed to keep family as a priority when she’s on the road.
There are so many reasons why Alexis Prince is the MVP and it has everything to do with what she has going on off the court. She currently has an AAU team in Texas and is currently organizing a team in Orlando, Florida.
When she’s not hooping, she’s in the gym working with kids, training players, and making herself available as a mentor.
Says Prince, “I want players to know that their dreams are possible and I’m here if they need guidance. I just want to help them however I can.”
